Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic, highly puritic, inflammatory skin disease frequently seen in patients with a history of respiratory allergy.1 Skin lesions are characterised by local infiltration of monocytes and lymphocytes, and a complex immunobiology involving mast cell degranulation, and a combination of immediate and cellular immune responses.
